FASHION WATCH SUMMER 2012: PHILIP RODRIGUEZ

Fashion design veteran Philip Rodriguez closed the Summer 2012 installment of Fashion Watch with an exuberant collection of pastels and florals that carried with it the lightness of spring and summer together with the romantic glamour that is the trademark of Cebuano designers.

Philip dished out delicate ensembles of heavy lace tops paired with shorts, wide-leg trousers and peplumed skirts in seafoam green, orchid, and periwinkle. All pairings comes with a thin Thai silk belt, putting emphasis on the waist.

To temper the use of thick fabrics on the dressy separates, Philip cut his long dresses from billowy, electric-pleated chiffon, which are sprayed with little florettes that represent his dainty inspiration, hydrangeas.

Try the Thai silk skirts for dressy daytime affairs, paired perhaps with cap-sleeved tops in cotton to offset the skirt's luxurious fabric. And opt for the chiffon numbers for evening events, which are breezy yet still dressy, perfect for reveling in the summer heat
